Sapphire ring
|
22k Yellow gold, 18k White gold, blue and white sapphires. |
This ring was commissioned to celebrate the birth of a baby boy. The blue sapphire was bought on honeymoon and the shank is made from a ring which belonged to a great uncle. The white gold head is hand fabricated from square wire. This ensured a perfect fit for the sapphires. |

Church ring and earrings
|
Sterling Silver with Citrine dome and 18k gold cross inside.
|
I used to walk past the 'new' state house in Boston, MA everyday on my way home from school. I'd often thought how much its beautiful shiny golden dome looked like a great big cabochon stone. Building a silver state house to fit on a ring was a little ambitious, so instead I built a simple church with a citrine dome. |

Tourmaline pendant
|
18k White gold, 11.3 Cts Indicolite (Blue tourmaline), VVS1/G 33pt natural diamond, 14k White gold cable. |
This piece was commissioned by Christopher as a wedding anniversary present for Carolynn. It's not at all obvious that this pendant opens, and Carolynn had been wearing it for a while before she found the diamond inside. I engraved the back in Christopher's handwriting. |

Woven bracelet
|
999 Fine silver, Argentium™ Sterling Silver, 18k White gold, Sapphires |
This bracelet is woven by hand using hundreds of fine silver wire loops. The handmade barrel clasp has a white gold tongue for strength and is opened by squeezing the sapphires.
I wrote a Step-by-Step article for the February 2006 edition of the Lapidary Journal illustrating how to make this clasp. |
